|HIGH SCHOOL| If you are interested in becoming a Remote or Flex Panther, contracts are ready for your signature. Please come by the High School Cafeteria today (Wednesday, July 22) or tomorrow (Thursday, July 23) between 4:00-7:00 to sign your contract. The student AND a parent/guardian must both attend to sign the contract. Please bring your own mask.

|MIDDLE SCHOOL| Remote Panther and Flex Panther information meeting is TONIGHT at 6:00 in the Middle School Cafeteria. Please limit 1 family member per student and please bring your own mask. This meeting is for Middle School students interested in Remote or Flex learning. If your child will be an On-Site Panther, you do not need to come to this meeting.

Athletes may choose to get their physical from their PCP, however the attached form must be used. Contact your coach for more details.

There will be a meeting at the Middle School Cafeteria on Tuesday, July 21st @ 6:00pm for parents of Middle School students interested in Remote and Flex Learning. Please limit to one family member if possible. Masks are encouraged.

The Heber Springs School District will follow Governor Asa Hutchinson's directive and begin the 2020-2021 school year on Monday, August 24, 2020. A new school calendar will be created and distributed soon.

This afternoon Governor Asa Hutchinson held a press conference where he announced that schools in Arkansas will not begin until the week of August 24, 2020. We will continue to monitor and communicate as information becomes available. Please check the HSSD website, social media pages and app for accurate school information and updates.

Social Distancing Rules in Place Due to the Corona 19 regulations, the Board of Education meeting is closed to public once we reach 10 people. You may go to the District’s Facebook page and view the meeting at 5:30 tonight.

Heber Springs Community, As I am sure that you have heard, the governor cancelled school for the remainder of this school year. We are deeply saddened that we cannot have traditional school at our facilities. As many of you are experiencing, teachers have a tremendous impact on your child’s life. They teach, motivate, and love your kids in a way that no one else can. We also know that your children miss their friends and school activities. In the near future, life will return to normal; we will be ready once again to give your kids the best education possible! Dr. Alan Stauffacher

Based on the recommendation of the Governor and the Arkansas Department of Education, the Heber Springs School District will remain closed throughout the 2019-2020 year for on-site instruction. AMI work will still be used for our students. Further instructions from each school regarding their AMI work will be released soon. Students will focus on mastering previously learned content this year. New content will NOT be expected for our students to complete. If you have any questions, please contact your child’s teacher. Please be aware, this should not be a stressful time for our families. We want our students to be educated but we know that the family dynamic is the most important. Grab-n-Go food bags provided by the OPAA staff will still be provided, Monday-Friday, for any child under the age of 18. Weekly menus are posted on the District Facebook and Instagram Page. Stay safe and stay healthy. We WILL get through this!

The Heber Springs School District will be closed for on-site instruction through April 17th, by recommendation of the Governor and the Arkansas Department of Education.  Please remember that THIS week students should have completed days 1-5 of their AMI work.  Next week is Spring Break, so no work will need to be completed.  March 30-April 3 will be AMI days 6-10 April 6-10 will be AMI days 11-15 April 13-17 will be AMI days 16-20  We realize that you do not have all of your work at this time.  We are working to figure out the best way to get this information out to you all and will let you know as soon as possible. Food Service Employees will be passing out Grab-n-Go food bags for students 18 and under, from 11:30-1:00pm everyday this week in front of the Middle School

!!!ROAD CLOSURE!!! The top of hill at West Pine & 11th Street down to Main Street will be closed for 24 hours. Businesses can still be accessed but you cannot turn onto Main Street.
