The Senior Spotlight this week
is the Captain of the Lady Panthers Softball Team. Tess Temple is
2014-2016 All Conference, 2014 Rookie of the Year,
2016 All State, and named to the 2016 All State
Tournament Team.
What is your biggest accomplishment and why?
I think my biggest accomplishment would be when I threw a 16 strikeout game in the regional tournament May 7th, 2016. Another accomplishment was getting the opportunity to be the captain of my team my senior year.
Who are some of contributors to your success?
A Major contributor would be God, who has given me the ability to play the sport I love. Some people who have contributed to my success would be my parents, aunt, and my grandma. They’ve always supported me, taken me to travel games and many practices, they’ve dealt with my attitudes and helped me persevere. Also, my coaches who have pushed me to be my best.
What goals do you hope to accomplish with your team this season?
I want my team to work together and play like a unit together. I want to win district and regional tournament, and TAKE STATE.
Who is your greatest inspiration and why?
My biggest inspiration is my Mom. She is the strongest woman in my life. She has an awesome sense of humor and such an awesome role model.
You played for Pride this summer, how has that helped you for this upcoming season?
Playing with Pride “up-ed” my game. We played super hard teams this summer season. It helped build my stamina and just made me an altogether better player.
What is the toughest thing you’ve had to overcome in order to reach your goals?
The hardest thing is probably trying to manage softball, school, and friends. It’s hard to balance everything.
What would you tell a younger athlete that looked up to you?
To always work hard. Always have a good attitude, your attitude is key. No matter how mad a teammate or coach makes you, keep your cool.
What is your game day ritual?
I will always wear my white nike hat and braid my ponytail.
What is your favorite motivational quote?
“Pain is temporary, pride is forever”
What has been the main difference for you going from Junior year to Senior year?
My confidence is a lot better. I believe in myself, and I know I can accomplish anything i put my mind too. I have to leave it all on the field this year
